French and indian war
The French and Indian War, also known as the 7 Years War, began in 1689, causing Indian to betray their French allies, and it was the first war that took place in the new world. This was a mass conflict between France, Britain, and the Indians over colonial territory, in which the colonies objective was to drive the French out of North America and they asked the King of Britain for permission to fight against France. In 1763, the colonies defeated the French and the war was ended by the first Treaty of Paris*. To prevent colonists from invading Indian territory, the Proclamation of 1763 stated that colonists could not settle past the Appalachian mountains.
